ABOUT OUR PROGRAM
Nestled on the grounds of the beautiful Echunga Primary School, Echunga OSHC is a small program currently licenced for 20 children.
Our educators and children work together to create a fun program based on the My Time Our Place framework. All permanent children enrolled have a portfolio and individual program tailored to their needs and interests.
We offer the opportunity for children to play, engage in activities that interest them, try a variety of art and craft activities, cooking, games and lots of outdoor play. Our Educators are highly skilled and use intentional teaching as a way to scaffold children’s learning, interests and development.

ECHUNGA OSHC PHILOSOPHY
Our program has been established with the aim of providing High Quality Care and Education, within the requirements of the National Quality Standard and the My Time, Our Place Framework, to meet the needs of children, parents, families, educators and the community during out of school hours care (OSHC). We believe children learn best through play and leisure in a warm, positive, nurturing and happy environment.
The inclusive needs and individual requirements of each child will be catered for to the best of our ability as we encourage each child to develop a strong sense of their identity, connections to their world, a strong sense of wellbeing, confidence and involvement in their learning and effective communication skills, self-esteem, respect for each other and our environment, participation, positive behaviour and responsibility.
Educators and children collaborate together to plan, implement and evaluate quality experiences for children. We value, respect and encourage positive diverse and inclusive behaviours, and encourage children to develop a sense of fairness, to challenge discrimination, bias and prejudice.
We acknowledge that the children and parents who use the program come from diverse backgrounds and cultures and we aim to support families while providing a variety of experiences to further enhance their children’s life skills.
We believe communication and collaboration between management (the Governing Council) – educators (OSHC educators, school and preschool teachers and Principal) – families – children – agencies (Department for Education, DEEWR, ACECQA) and the extended community is a vital key in maintaining the highest level of quality care in the success of the Echunga OSHC service.
We strive to continuously improve our service and support professional development opportunities for our educators.
